ESTEP is currently recruiting an experienced mental health nurse for a fixed-term contract (up to 9 months) to cover maternity leave.
ESTEP is the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Service covering South East Essex. We seek an experienced mental health nurse to become an EIP Care Co-ordinator for a fixed term. The ideal candidate will have community experience, preferably within an EIP setting, and a passion for working with this client group.
Being part of someone's journey towards recovery is powerful and rewarding. For individuals with a psychotic illness, we offer a 3-year engagement period, allowing practitioners to build relationships and develop care plans.
Adherence to NICE guidelines regarding care plans is essential. The initial months focus on understanding the individual to establish trust and shared understanding.
The skills required include adapting approaches to build relationships, maintaining good record-keeping, providing psychoeducation about psychosis, using assessment tools, engaging with families and carers, contributing to MDT discussions, engaging in supervision and training, understanding medication and CBT, and managing risks effectively.
