The role requires an understanding of child development, attachment, learning disabilities/difficulties. The Co-Ordinator must be professional, confident, self-motivated, with strong organization and communication skills. Advocacy for children and families to ensure their views are considered and rights promoted is essential. Experience in producing quality reports, prioritizing work, good time management, and flexibility around conflicting demands is important.

Minimum Qualifications:

HNC / SVQ level 3 in Social Care or BA Social Work or equivalent, Diploma/Degree level qualification with experience working with children and families, PVG.

Demonstrable Skills:

Assessing and balancing risk within a child protection framework, formulating and implementing social work interventions, prioritizing tasks, managing workload, and ensuring high-quality case work. Effective communication, negotiation, and handling complex issues sensitively. Using information management systems for accurate data, analyzing complex information for reports, and presenting findings. Providing social work interventions, advocating for children and families, and applying research and statutory guidance to practice. Effective communication with children, staff, carers, and professionals to improve outcomes. Attention to detail, especially regarding financial responsibilities, and participation in service development. Ability to produce high-quality reports, conduct interviews, investigations, assessments, and develop person-centered plans. Managing priorities, complex cases, and high-risk situations.
