Job Role: Support worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Worker must have at least 6 months experience in care and be compassionate.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers help with the day-to-day care of patients, either in homes, hospitals, or in patients' own homes.

Previous experience and/or qualifications in care are essential to apply.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you would work under the supervision of nursing staff alongside other Healthcare Assistants.

Your duties could include:

1. Helping patients to wash, shower, or dress
2. Serving food or assisting with eating
3. Making and changing beds
4. Turning patients confined to bed to prevent pressure sores
5. Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
6. Helping patients move around if difficult
7. Assisting with toileting and collecting bedpans
8. Maintaining tidiness of the ward or patient's home
9. Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily work may involve using mobility aids and equipment to lift and move patients. In hospitals, you may escort patients between departments. With experience, you may partake in training new healthcare assistants.
