Job Role: Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support worker / Healthcare assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Worker must have at least 6 months experience in care and be compassionate.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Worker will help with the day-to-day care and are vital members of the team in hospitals, homes, and clinics.

Previous experience and/or qualifications in care are essential.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you will work under supervision of nursing staff along with other Healthcare Assistants.

Your duties may include:

• Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
• Serving food or assisting with eating
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Helping patients move around
• Assisting with bedpans and toileting
• Maintaining tidiness of wards or homes
• Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily work may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients. With experience, you may participate in training new healthcare assistants.
