Job description

Care Assistants (Care in the community)

Location: Cornwall and Devon

Salary: £12.21 whilst training/Shadowing and £12.82 Carers with NVQ2 or above

Our clients are an established family run company who have been providing care for people in their community for over 30 years. They offer stable year-round work and have been rated Good by the CQC.

They are looking for caring, kind and compassionate people to join their team.

If you have experience in hospitality, retail, customer services or wish to return to work after a career break, your expertise in communication with people from various backgrounds gives you the experience the company are looking for.

They provide support to people in their local community and as a Care Assistant, you can make a real difference to the lives of people in your local area, giving them the support they need to be able to live independently in their own homes. They provide high standards of person-centred care and have a team of experienced Managers who have a number of years working within the care sector.

The Role

As a Care Assistant you will be responsible for:

  1. Helping customers out of bed
  2. Providing personal care
  3. Assisting with medication
  4. Shopping and food/nutritional support
  5. Day sitting
  6. Escorting to and from appointments
  7. Being there for a chat
Their Ideal Candidate:
  1. Be committed, caring, and compassionate and keen to provide professional high-quality care
  2. Be reliable and trustworthy with a commitment to Customer Care
  3. Be able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team
  4. Be NVQ/QCF/Diploma Level 2 qualified - if you have not, they can help you obtain this with their in-house trainers
  5. Previous experience not essential
Essential Skills:
  1. Have the use of a mobile phone
  2. Working alternate weekends and some evenings will be a requirement
  3. UK Driving licence and use of a car
