Job Role: Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with daily routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers must have at least 6 months of experience in care and possess compassion.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers help with the day-to-day care of patients in homes, hospitals, or patients' own homes.

They are vital members of the team in hospitals, homes, and clinics.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you would work under the supervision of nursing staff alongside other Healthcare Assistants.

Your duties could include:

1. Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
2. Serving food or assisting with eating
3. Making and changing beds
4. Turning patients confined to bed to prevent pressure sores
5. Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
6. Helping patients move if difficult
7. Assisting with bedpans and toileting
8. Maintaining tidiness of wards or homes
9. Managing supplies and equipment

Your work may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients between departments. With experience, you may participate in training new healthcare assistants.
