Job Role: Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will help and assist the team with daily routines, including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers must have at least 6 months of experience in care and demonstrate compassion.

They help with the day-to-day care of patients in homes, hospitals, or patients' own homes. They are vital members of hospital, home, and clinic teams.

Previous experience and/or qualifications in care are essential.

As a Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker, you will work under nursing staff supervision alongside other Healthcare Assistants. Your duties may include:

• Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
• Serving food or assisting with eating
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Helping patients move around
• Assisting with toileting needs
• Maintaining tidy wards or homes
• Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily tasks may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients within hospitals. With experience, you may participate in induction training for new staff.
