Job summary

Burnview Healthcare seeks a Twilight Care Assistant to deliver compassionate, person-centred support to residents in our Northern Ireland homes. You will help with personal care, mobility, meals, and daily activities while promoting dignity, independence and safety.

You will work as part of a team in a care home environment, following care plans and adhering to infection control and safeguarding policies. A commitment to resident wellbeing and effective communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Right to live and work in the UK
• Good standard of education
• Satisfactory Enhanced Access NI check required
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily personal hygiene, dressing and toileting.
• Support mobility, positioning and use of aids (hoists, wheelchairs).
• Assist with continence care and eating/drinking as needed.
• Provide companionship, encourage activities and preserve dignity.

We are currently recruiting for a Twilight Care Assistant to deliver high standards of care and support to residents in a person-centred, compassionate, and respectful manner. The Care Assistant will promote dignity, independence, and quality of life for each individual in line with their care plan and our care home's values.

About the role

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Personal Care & Support:

• Assist residents with daily personal hygiene (washing, dressing, toileting).

• Support residents with mobility, positioning, and use of aids (hoists, wheelchairs).

• Assist with continence care and incontinence support.

• Help residents with eating and drinking, including feeding when required.

Emotional & Social Support:

• Provide companionship, reassurance, and emotional support.
• Encourage and support residents’ participation in activities and social interaction.
• Maintain respect and dignity at all times, promoting resident choice and autonomy.

Monitoring & Record Keeping:

• Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to senior staff.

• Accurately record care given, including food and fluid intake, personal care, and observations.

• Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection guidelines.

Health & Safety / Infection Control:

• Follow care home policies and procedures at all times.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
• Adhere to moving and handling protocols and health & safety guidelines.
