Job summary

Rota Support Ltd in Stowmarket is seeking Healthcare Assistants for flexible, ad-hoc shifts across our client homes. Shifts can accumulate into full or part-time hours but are offered on a 0 hours contract.

Role involves working at different homes, covering gaps due to annual leave, maternity leave, sickness and vacancies, with short-notice opportunities as needed. You will support daily living activities and work with nurses to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 months experience in a care home.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Compassionate, patient and enjoy helping others.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding and using the toilet.
• Utilise equipment to move patients when necessary.
• Help tidy the patient's home or room.
• Take vital signs such as blood pressure and temperature.
• Talk to patients and reassure them.
• Assist nurses and other staff when needed.

About the Company

Rota Support LTD specialises in the supply of permanent and temporary Care, Nursing & Support staff into the private healthcare sector, including care homes for the elderly, nursing homes, learning disability and mental health services, as well as private hospitals.

About the Role

We are looking to recruit Healthcare Assistants located in Stowmarket that are looking for ad‑hoc, flexible shifts. These shifts can accumulate into either full time hours or part time hours, but will be offered on a 0 hours contract. The role will include working at different homes and services covering gaps in our clients rotas due to annual leave, maternity leave, sickness and vacancies. These shifts may arise at short notice due to last minute emergencies, whilst also being booked weeks in advance, depending on the clients needs.

Everyday tasks will consist of the following, but not be limited to

• Assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding and using the toilet
• Utilising equipment to move patients when necessary
• Helping tidy the patient's home or room
• Taking the patient's vital signs such as blood pressure and temperature
• Talking to patients and reassuring them
• Assisting nurses and other staff when needed

About the Person

A suitable candidate for this position will be somebody that has a minimum of 4 months experience in a care home previously. Somebody that has a good understanding of spoken and written English. Somebody that is compassionate, patient and enjoys helping others.
