I am in urgent need of experienced Shift workers – Care Assistants and Senior Care Assistants required in the Southport, Leyland, Burscough, Wigan, and Preston areas.

Purpose of the Position

  1. Support the person in charge and their assistant in all aspects of the home’s management, including taking temporary complete charge during their absence.
  2. Help train junior staff members in all aspects of their work in the home.
  3. Follow company policies and procedures.
  4. Contribute to the efficient running of the home and foster a positive atmosphere.
  5. Assist care users with dressing, undressing, bathing, and toileting.
  6. Manage medication administration and records, provided trained and qualified to do so (minimum NVQ Level 3 required).
  7. Ensure resources are managed effectively.
  8. Communicate effectively with all parties.
  9. Maintain a team ethos within the home.
  10. Greet visitors and show prospective care users and families the home's facilities as required.
  11. Assist care users with mobility issues and physical disabilities, including incontinence; help with aids and personal equipment.
  12. Promote mental and physical activities for care users through conversations, outings, and activities like reading, hobbies, and recreation.
  13. Perform light housekeeping duties such as making beds, tidying rooms, and light cleaning.
  14. Prepare and serve light meals, assist during meal times, and wash utensils.
  15. Respond to emergency alarms, doorbells, and telephone calls; greet visitors.
  16. Record reports in case notes accurately.
  17. Act as a Senior Key Worker, developing and updating care plans according to residents' needs and wishes.
  18. Coordinate with healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams as needed.
  19. Participate in staff meetings and training activities.
  20. Engage in professional development through mandatory training and e-learning courses.
  21. Adhere to the Code of Conduct for Social Care Workers.
  22. Uphold residents' rights, dignity, and promote equality and diversity with a person-centered approach.
  23. Ensure the safety and well-being of service users at all times.
  24. Follow health and safety policies, including COSHH regulations.
  25. Perform other reasonable duties as required.
