A support service provider is seeking a Care Assistant to support a young man with complex care needs near Barnard Castle. The role involves assisting with personal care, medical needs such as PEG feeding, and providing transportation. Flexible shift patterns are available, and training will be provided. A driving license and access to a car are essential. Enhanced DBS check is required, cost covered by the employer.
Care Assistant required to support a young man aged 19 years who lives near Barnard Castle.
Global Hypoxic brain injury sustained in 2023, the young man has complex care needs, including a need for airway support, Peg feed, manual handling, hoisting and positioning, daily personal care routine.
Hours /Wage:
Hours per week negotiable, rate of pay £ 13 per hour
12 hour shifts 0800 – 2000 and 2000-0800 shift pattern negotiable working along side other carers, generally either day or night shifts unless you are willing to do both.
Duties:
Supporting the young man in his daily care needs with everything from personal care to hoisting, washing, supporting with basic therapies.
Additional Requirements/Information:
Training will be given
No experience required just a willingness to learn and work as part of a team, taking time to understand this young gentleman.
Due to location and lack of public transport, driving licence and use of a car would be required although possibility of support with transport for the right candidate.
Care will all be centred around the young man’s family home.
Enhanced DBS will be required, employer will cover the cost
