We are seeking an experienced Care / Support worker to join our team of Personal Assistants supporting a client in the Dudley area. The role involves assisting a client with a degenerative muscular disease to maintain an independent lifestyle at home and in the community. The client has interests in health, nutrition, travel, period dramas, and education.

You will support the client outside the home to access the community using a wheelchair. A full clean driving license is required as you will need to drive a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.

You will work as part of a small team, on both 1:1 and 2:1 basis. The contracted hours are 15 hours per week, covering shifts between 8am-10pm, on a rolling rota:

• 8am-10am
• 8am-1.30pm
• 12.30pm-6.30pm
• 5.30pm-10pm
• 8.45pm-10pm

Experience in:

• Personal care and moving & handling, including hoisting
• Meal preparation and feeding assistance
• Medication management
• Household chores, maintenance, and gardening
• Providing companionship and engaging in hobbies
• Supporting administrative tasks, shopping, and organizing visits
• Assisting with outside activities and appointments in a wheelchair

Additional requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness
