Job summary

Outlook Care's St George's Nursing Home in Witham is seeking dedicated care staff to support residents in a warm, compassionate environment. You will deliver prescribed care, document progress, and work with senior staff to uphold dignity and choice for each resident.

We welcome applicants with transferable skills, a flexible approach, and excellent communication. A DBS check and Covid-19 vaccination are strongly encouraged, with a supportive induction and pension options available.

Qualifications

• Excellent listening and communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care as prescribed in care plans under senior staff guidance.
• Provides verbal and written reports on resident progress during shifts.

• Applies infection control principles and home policy.
• Follows falls prevention practices and safety protocols.
• Participates in life story work and activity development.
• Supports a proactive, caring home culture.
• Creates meaningful 30-second connections during routines.
• Sees the person behind the illness in all interactions.

Job Role

• Demonstrates the skill of delivering care as prescribed in care plans for a group of residents under the guidance of senior staff.
• To be able to give a comprehensive verbal and written report on the resident's progress on a shift.
• Delivers and understands the importance of maintaining hydration and nutrition.
• Delivers and understands the principles of infection control and follows St Georges Nursing Home policy.
• Delivers and understands the principles of falls prevention.
• Takes an active part in life story work, understanding the principles and the expected outcomes.
• Will contribute to the development of an activity based home culture.
• Make all routine interventions a meaningful 30 second connection.
• Use every care opportunity to see the person behind the illness.

St George's Nursing Home in Witham provides residential and nursing care, and specialises in high dependency, intermediate and long-term palliative care and end of life care. Our philosophy is to provide our residents with a relaxed and comfortable home in which their nursing care needs, well-being and choice are of prime importance.
