Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Care Assistant for the Droitwich Mews Care Home in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire. You will deliver high standards of personal care and support the care team to ensure continuity of services for residents.

No prior experience is required as we provide a thorough induction and training. DBS disclosure is required and Avery will cover the cost; eligibility to work in the UK must be shown.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate initiative and be respectful towards residents and others in the home.
• Be an efficient worker who can follow reasonable instructions from team members.
• Be adaptable and flexible to cover various responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of personal care and support the care team to ensure continuity of services for residents.
• Assist residents with personal hygiene to promote independence, dignity and respect.
• Recognise and address clinical risk areas (weight loss, pressure ulcers, falls, infections) and escalate promptly.
• Act courteously toward residents and visitors, upholding their dignity.
• Practice safe systems of work across all tasks.
• Maintain professional conduct and team collaboration.

About The Role

Your focus as Care Assistant will be to deliver high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.

Other Responsibilities Will Include

• Assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.
• Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, sign of infections and escalates any identified risks in a timely manner.
• Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
• Practicing safe systems of work across the range of tasks.
