Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant in Corbridge to support residents with daily care and wellbeing. You will help with personal care, meals, mobility, and social activities, under supervision where required.

Training will be provided to enable basic nursing tasks and medication assistance as agreed with management. Your role involves accurate reporting to the nurse in charge, maintaining resident dignity, and contributing to a safe, respectful, and welcoming home

• Good observation and reporting of residents' conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with washing, dressing and undressing.
• Support with mobility and use of mobility aids.

• Help with bed changing and room tidying as needed.
• Record weights and report changes to the nurse in charge.
• Support admissions and discharges and label property.
• Encourage social activities and interaction among residents.
• Attend mandatory training and follow codes of conduct.

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team and help support our residents in living comfortable, dignified, and fulfilling lives.

As a Care Assistant, you will support the direct care provision of all aspects of residents' assessed needs, including:

Assisting residents with washing, dressing, and undressing

Participating in basic nursing care under supervision (e.g. bed bathing, pressure area care, mouth and eye care)

Supporting residents with toileting needs, including continence promotion

Changing beds and tidying residents' rooms as appropriate

Encouraging and assisting residents with mobility and the use of mobility aids

Helping to serve meals and drinks, including feeding residents who require assistance

Ensuring residents receive the correct meal or diet appropriate to their needs

Assisting with the admission and discharge process, including listing and labelling residents' property/clothing

Reporting relevant information to the nurse in charge to ensure care plans are up to date

Observing and reporting any changes in residents' physical or psychological condition

Assisting in taking and recording residents' weights

Reporting any accidents or incidents involving residents or staff immediately to the nurse in charge

Supporting and encouraging social activities and interaction among residents

Adhering to the Staff Code of Conduct and relevant statutory codes of practice

Attending all mandatory and additional training as required

Answering the telephone, taking accurate messages, and notifying the nurse in charge promptly

Assisting with additional duties as needed during staff absences or shortages

Administering medication if trained, competent, and required by management
