Job Role: Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Worker must have at least 6 months of experience in care and possess compassion.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Worker will help with the day-to-day care of patients, either in homes, hospitals, or in patients’ own homes.

They are vital members of teams in hospitals, homes, and clinics.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you would work under the supervision of nursing staff and alongside other Healthcare Assistants.

Your duties may include:

1. Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
2. Serving food or assisting with eating
3. Making and changing beds
4. Turning patients to prevent pressure sores
5. Talking to patients to ease anxiety
6. Helping patients move around
7. Assisting with toileting needs
8. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the ward or home
9. Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily work may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients within hospitals. With experience, you might participate in training new healthcare assistants.
