We are recruiting a minimum of 3 full-time or 6 part-time Care Assistants to provide care and support to people living in Heaton (NE7).

If you are the kind of person that can make people smile while visiting them in their home, then a Care Assistant with Be Caring could be the right fit for you. You do not need a degree or care qualifications to be a Care Assistant, but you will need the right values. Each day is varied, and you will need a can-do attitude.

Pay: £ p/hr (drivers) / £ p/hr (walkers) (paid per shift, travel time included)

As a Community Care Worker for Be Caring, your working hours will be aligned to our shift patterns, which include late shifts and alternate weekends.

  • Early Shifts: 7:00am - 3:00pm
  • Late shift: 3:00pm - 10:00pm (finish time depends on public transport times)

We will agree your working pattern, setting a 2-week rota including:

  • Evenings as agreed within your working hours.
  • Fully funded DBS.
  • Paid induction training: 1 week classroom-based, 2 days shadowing, and online modules.
  • Funding for Level 2 and other accredited courses.
  • Holiday pay: accumulates with hours worked and service length.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): 24-hour helpline and support.
  • Optional union membership through GMB partnership.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care respecting dignity.
  • Promote independence using enabling approaches.
  • Support clients to meet their outcomes, involving families and professionals.
  • Connect clients to community resources.
  • Deliver personalized care based on individual choices.
  • Communicate effectively, document, and report appropriately.
Induction Training:

No prior care experience needed. We value transferable skills from roles like shop assistants. Training includes:

  • Our values and going above & beyond.
  • Dignity, safeguarding, equality, and diversity.
  • Confidentiality and boundaries.
  • Nutrition, medication safety, and moving techniques.
  • Infection control, health & safety.
  • Learning disabilities, mental health, and capacity.
