A personal assistance service in Bristol is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to provide practical support for a 25-year-old female with Functional Neurological Disorder. The role involves assisting with daily tasks, maintaining routines, and providing emotional encouragement. Candidates should possess reliability, strong timekeeping, and a supportive nature. This is a flexible part-time position offering £12.40/hr for 5 hours a week.
About Me:
Hi! I am a 25-year-old female living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). This is a neurological condition that affects my independence - particularly my mobility and energy levels. I walk using a mobility aid and sometimes need support with tasks like navigating stairs or getting ready. I often find simple tasks challenging but approach life with warmth, optimism, and a strong sense of humor.
I’m incredibly friendly and love to build trusting, supportive relationships with those around me. If we work together, I’d love to create an environment where you feel valued, appreciated, and comfortable. You’ll often find me immersed in a good book, and I have a habit of sharing cakes and pastries with those who cross my path - so there’s a good chance you’ll find me baking!
About the Role:
5 hours per week - flexible to fit in with husbands working pattern.
I’m looking for a reliable, compassionate, and adaptable Personal Assistant to help me with day-to-day tasks while bringing a grounding and calming presence. This isn’t a clinical caregiving role - it’s about practical assistance and support, helping me maintain healthy routines while making life a little smoother.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with getting ready for the day or settling for bed
- Helping with dressing (no personal care required)
- Providing support with mobility, including assistance with getting up/downstairs
- Offering reassurance and calm encouragement to promote well-being
- Helping maintain an organized and structured routine
- Light household tasks as required
- Accompanying to appointments or outings if needed
Essential Skills & Requirements:
Reliability – punctual and dependable
Strong timekeeping skills – ability to structure tasks effectively
Flexibility – adaptable to changing needs
Previous experience with neurological conditions including seizures OR a willingness to learn with an open mind
Own transportation – ability to commute independently
Kind and supportive nature – providing a reassuring and grounding presence
If you are someone who enjoys making a positive difference and thrives in a role that blends practical support with emotional encouragement, I would love to hear from you.
