We are looking to recruit a support worker for 10 hours per week during term time and 5 hours per week during school holidays, providing 2:1 support for a child both at home and in the community. Initially, support will be delivered at home.
The support will mainly be after school from 4pm, with flexibility for evenings. The role includes supporting with the child's nighttime routine, bathing, and preparing for bed. Training will be provided for applying medicated creams if necessary.
The child has autism with a lower functioning age and limited verbal communication, requiring constant supervision to ensure safety. Recent behaviors include some adverse reactions to routine changes. The role involves building a strong, consistent relationship with the child and supporting appropriate behavior strategies.
The child is energetic and bubbly, enjoys outdoor activities like parks, forest walks, and beach visits, and swimming. Support workers should be comfortable with outdoor activities and swimming regularly.
£13.09/hour. Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata. Out-of-pocket expenses paid by employer.
Enhanced DBS check required, costs covered by employer.
Support may be needed on weekends occasionally, scheduled as agreed. Services include social and leisure activities.
Training includes: Essential PA Guide, Safeguarding Adults/Children, Understanding Challenging Behaviour, Autism/Asperger's.
Full UK driving license and own car required.
Hours mainly in the evenings, 10 hours/week at £13.09/hr. Flexibility in scheduling, especially during holidays.
