Job description

PA required for 2 hours a week initially with potential of more and extra holiday hours. Flexibility in the holidays is important. Holidays would be longer hours, so he could go out for the day.

Personal assistant needed to assist a 9 year old autistic boy who is demand avoidant to get out and about in the community safely and do things he enjoys. Most of the time you will be working with another PA. We live in the Rothwell LS26 area.

Joseph is a loving, caring and adventurous boy who loves doing things on his terms. Joseph loves attention and when calm can be very chatty and has a good sense of humour. Joseph loves being outdoors and playing games. It can take motivation to get him of his tablet first. When a demand is put on Joseph this can make his nervous system go into fight/flight, so he needs adults to help keep him regulated and safe.

Joseph is toilet trained but still has some wee accidents, so may need help to get changed.

We are ideally after someone who has some understanding and/or previous experience of working with neurodivergent children who are demand avoidant, and can be flexible. However, the main thing is you form a positive relationship with Joseph and enjoy activities with him.

Currently the 2 hours could be on a Saturday afternoon or on a Sunday, or a Tuesday evening during a cubs session or a Friday club he attends from 5:30pm.

I would be happy to chat if you want more information.
