To provide support for a 17-year-old female with a rare genetic syndrome named Wiedemann Steiner Syndrome, ADHD and Global Development Delay.

Main Duties

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Support Worker for a 17-year-old young lady to enable her to access the community and enjoy going to shops and cafés, along with developing her independence skills with travel and finances and helping to build her confidence when experiencing different social settings. She enjoys the Gym which is important to her for her health and sense of wellbeing, as well as swimming. The ideal Support Worker would be someone who enjoys the same activities and is passionate about supporting young people who require assistance. A car driver is essential, and you must be insured for business use. There are no requirements for administration of medication with this role.

Hours 3 hours on a Wednesday morning for gym/swim. 1 in 4 Sundays for 4 hours for other social activities.

Rate of pay
£13.74 per hour.

Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata. Any out-of-pocket expenses will be met by the employer; and further explained at interview. Benefit ILGPA, which will also be explained at interview.

Person Specification
The successful applicant must:

· Have a positive understanding about young people with disabilities
· Have a genuine interest in working with young people with complex needs
· Have a high degree of initiative and always ensure the safety of the young person
· Be punctual, flexible and reliable
· Have a happy, positive and caring nature
· Respect confidentiality

Car driver NOT essential, however if own car is used it must be insured for business use.

The successful candidate will require an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure (DBS), cost to be met by employer.
