Job description
Care Assistant for a teenage boy – part-time role in Blyth (£13.74/hr)

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Support Worker to enable this young person to access age-appropriate leisure activities in the local community. The support may also on occasion take place at the family home where he loves to play on his Xbox, Nintendo Switch and with Hornby Trains.

NB: Applicants will be asked to provide Certificates for relevant training/qualifications they have advised they have within their application for this role.

Hours

7 hours per week – Saturday or Sunday – may change from week to week.

Rate of pay

£13.74 per hour. Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata. Any out-of-pocket expenses will be met by the employer.

Person Specification

The successful applicant must:

  • Have experience and a positive understanding about children and young people who have disabilities
  • Have a genuine interest in working with children and young people with complex needs
  • Have a high degree of initiative
  • Be punctual and reliable as the young person cannot be left unsupervised
  • Be flexible
  • Have a happy, positive and caring nature
  • Respect confidentiality

Full, clean driving licence required and must be insured for business use. The successful candidate will require an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure (DBS), cost to be met by employer.
