A caring, reliable, and empathetic Personal Assistant is required to support a friendly individual living with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and severe Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) also can support with severely limited eyesight. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference in another person’s life by providing both practical assistance and emotional support.

The role involves a variety of responsibilities including personal care such as, light domestic duties including cleaning and assistance with community access, hospital or doctor appointments, shopping, and administrative tasks. There may also be occasional help needed with gardening and repairs around the home. The right person for this role will be someone who understands the impact of chronic pain and mental health conditions, and who can offer a compassionate, patient, and respectful presence.

Applicants should have previous experience working in care, particularly within the mental health sector. An understanding of BPD and OCD is highly desirable. A DBS check is required and will be funded. A smoking applicant is preferred. The ability to drive is preferred, although no vehicle is provided. There are some compensation for petrol.

This is a weekday role, with hours available Monday to Friday across mornings, afternoons, and evenings, but flexible. There are no weekend or bank holiday shifts required. The start date is as soon as possible.
