Job summary

Bath & North East Somerset Council is looking for an Extra Care Support Worker to be based at Hawthorn Court in Keynsham. The role is 21.87 hours per week with a rota including mornings and evenings (07:30-14:00 and 14:30-21:30) and every other weekend, with enhancements paid on bank holidays.

You will assist tenants with personal care, promote independence, keep accurate records, and help access NHS services.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working in care would be an advantage, but a commitment to deliver quality care is essential and full training will be provided.

• Promote lifestyle choice, offering individuals the opportunity and motivation to retain independence and stay in control of their lives.

This post attracts a welcome payment of 5% of the starting salary for the grade to enable individuals to join our permanent workforce. This is payable upon successful completion of your probationary period and is subject to eligibility criteria.

We are looking for an Extra Care Care assistant to be based in one of our Extra Care Services at Hawthorn Court.

The Hawthorn Court offers a vibrant community atmosphere which is in Keynsham, and this is easily accessible via public transport or car.

About the Role

This role is for 21.87 hours per week and involves a rota system which will involve working morning and late shifts from 07:30-14:00 and 14:30-21:30. You also will be working every other weekend with some bank holidays for which enhancements are paid.

We provide additional pay enhancements for all roles, applicable to shifts worked during weekends, nights, and bank holidays.

What is Extra Care?

Extra Care Housing is for adults, who have some care needs, with an assured tenancy in a self-contained flat in a purpose-built or adapted scheme. Our Extra care housing services have been rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in June 2022.

As an Extra Care Support Worker, you will:
