A local government organization in Auchterarder is seeking a part-time Care Assistant to support residents at Parkdale Residential Home. This role involves assisting with daily activities, administering medication, and promoting residents' independence and quality of life. Ideal candidates should display a caring attitude and strong communication skills. No prior experience needed, but willingness to achieve an SVQ level 2 in Social Services & Healthcare is essential.

Parkdale Residential Home, Auchterarder
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Parkdale Care Home, a service for older people providing permanent and respite care.
As a Care Assistant, you will work alongside and support the Social Care Officers to put the residents care and wellbeing at the heart of everything you do.
You will be promoting independence, dignity and quality of life at all times in a person centred caring and supportive environment.
Your duties will also include assisting with daily activities, providing residents with both physical and emotional support and personal care as required.
You will be required to administer medication as part of the role.
Parkdale operates a 24 hour service and the role is flexible with hours subject to change.
You will ideally work between the hours of 7.30am and 8pm. Hours of work can be discussed at interview stage.
There are no entry requirements however you will be required to work towards achieving an SVQ level 2 in Social Services & Healthcare / Health and Social Care or equivalent within an agreed timeframe.
You will also be required to register with the SSSC as a Support Worker within prescribed timescales.
We require a caring person with a good sense of humour who can build and maintain a good rapport with the residents and the families of those in your care.

The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills and appreciate the needs, wishes and aspirations of older people and how best to support them in the care home setting.

This role requires you to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) , if you are not yet registered, you can still apply, as long as you are willing to apply for registration within 3 months of starting with us and be registered within 6 months.
