The posts are part-time; the salary will be pro-rata to the number of hours worked.

At Queens Quay, you will be part of a team within a modern care home working and supporting as a Care Assistant in an 84-bedded care home. We are committed to delivering high standards of person-centred care in our busy and modern home, providing choices and independence to ensure our residents feel safe and supported.

We are looking for dynamic and caring Care Assistants to provide personal care and support to residents as directed by senior staff. You will maintain a clean, fresh, and homely environment, providing person-centred care for individuals and groups of residents consistent with their needs through a range of duties including personal care and meaningful activities.

You will support residents throughout the day to maintain their independence, assisting and supporting them as required. You will engage and listen to residents' preferences in how they would like to be cared for. Your role will include responding to enquiries from a wide range of people, including families and health professionals.

To undertake this role effectively, you must demonstrate excellent communication, problem-solving, and people skills. You should have the SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF level 6 or SVQ 2 Health and Social Care, or be willing to undertake this within 3 months. We have a pathway for development to senior posts, training opportunities, and peer support for staff refresh and learning on various topics.

We are looking for an organised individual with a positive, can-do approach who can work well under pressure with senior supports. You will be welcomed and supported to be part of our team within Queens Quay House.

Annual salary is enhanced with an additional 10% shift allowance for those working rotational shift patterns.

Requirements

This post is considered regulated work with adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007, and as such, membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.
