Real Work. Real Bonds. Real Purpose. We won’t sugar-coat it - This job is hard… There are long days, tough emotions, and moments that will stretch your patience and your heart. You might be holding someone’s hand as they cry - or help provide personal care. You’ll be on your feet, and sometimes, you’ll feel tired to your bones. But here’s the truth: it’s also the most meaningful work you might ever do. You’ll hear belly laughs from people who’ve lived a century. You’ll see someone’s eyes light up when you walk in the room. You’ll help someone feel safe again. And you’ll go home knowing - really knowing - that you made a difference today. We’re not just hiring a Care Assistant, we’re looking for someone who instinctively knows how to bring calm to chaos, warmth to silence, and humour to hard days. Someone who sees that real care isn’t about time sheets or ticking boxes - it’s about connection.

What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting our residents with dignity, respect, and heart – helping with daily routines such as personal care, supporting emotional well-being, and encouraging social activities that bring joy and companionship, or being there in the quiet moments.
  • Bringing your unique personality into the home and helping create a space where joy lives in the small things.
  • Getting to know each resident, their needs, and what matters most to them, delivering care that’s tailored to their preferences.
  • Ensure care plans are up to date, documenting important information to help provide the best care possible.
Is this role for you?
  • You believe dignity lives in the small things - brushing hair, providing a clean, safe environment, remembering names.
  • You want to be part of a team where kindness is the culture, not just a buzzword.
  • You’re a good listener, a reliable presence, and someone who understands that care is just as much about empathy as it is about action.
  • You’re the kind of person who treats everyone with warmth.
  • We don’t need you to have loads of experience. We need you to care - deeply, honestly, and without pretence.
What we offer
  • A team that sees and values you.
  • Fully paid training and plenty of career progression opportunities
  • Induction programme with a dedicated mentor to help you feel supported and comfortable in your new role
  • Free DBS check and auto-enrolment pension
  • The use of ‘Flex Earn’ enabling you to access wages earnt in advance of pay day, viewing earnt wages in real time
  • Blue Light Card eligibility – discounts on retail, eating out, and more!
  • Free meals provided when working long shifts
  • Access to Peninsula Care Homes Mental Health First Aider; an external Confidential Care helpline for you and your family members; Peninsula Care Home’s ‘Whycare?’ app and Refer a Friend scheme(earn money for bringing your friends on board!)
  • The joy of being part of someone’s final chapter - and making sure it’s filled with comfort, respect, and love.
  • This is more than a job. It’s a place where your kindness becomes someone’s lifeline.
