Job Type: Permanent, Full Time (38.5 hours per week, including alternate weekends)

About the Role

As a Night Care Assistant, you'll provide compassionate, person-centred care while helping residents feel safe, comfortable, and supported during the night. You'll work closely with colleagues to ensure every resident receives the highest standard of care, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing at all times.

You'll play an important role in creating a warm and reassuring environment where residents can continue to enjoy life, maintain connections, and feel truly at home.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Care Assistant, you will:

  • Support residents with washing, dressing, toileting, personal care, and all aspects of daily living.
  • Deliver high-quality physical, emotional, and social care while preserving residents' dignity and independence.
  • Assist residents with mobility needs and ensure the safe use of equipment and aids.
  • Monitor and support residents living with dementia, confusion, or complex care needs.
  • Promote continence and personal wellbeing.
  • Provide compassionate support to residents receiving end-of-life care and support their families during sensitive times.
  • Observe care needs and complete accurate daily records in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Engage with residents, encouraging conversation, wellbeing, and participation in meaningful activities and hobbies.
  • Respond promptly to nurse call systems and provide assistance whenever required.
  • Report any changes in residents' wellbeing to senior care staff.
  • Carry out regular welfare checks throughout the night to ensure residents remain safe and comfortable.
  • Welcome visitors and relatives when appropriate, providing support and refreshments where needed.
  • Maintain clean, tidy, and comfortable resident environments.
  • Clean and maintain equipment such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, and other personal items.
  • Record resident participation and feedback to help create meaningful and person-centred experiences.
