Care Assistant Job Description

Our stunning new home, Bridgewater Manor, is a purpose-built care home in the popular location of Worsley Village, Salford. The home is registered to provide care for 71 residents with various needs, including residential and nursing care. It meets all CQC requirements, providing the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care. We invest in the latest technology and offer a purposeful programme of daily activities and gentle exercise to enhance residents' experience, care, and wellbeing.

All team members are carefully selected for their warmth and passion. They undergo a full induction and ongoing training from our in-house trainers and the New Care Academy. The home is rated GOOD in all domains by CQC. We maintain a zero agency usage policy, employing a permanent staff team to ensure continuity of care and familiarity for residents. All staff are paid at least the national minimum wage.

Job Role

We are seeking to appoint kind, caring, and compassionate Care Assistants to join our team. You will deliver high-quality care to residents in line with their Care Plans and contribute to the smooth running of the home. We offer full-time contracts with an hourly rate of £12.25. Shift times are 07:45-20:00, with alternate weekends off.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver person-centred, hands-on care to residents.
  2. Support residents to enjoy a good quality of life.
  3. Model best practices when delivering care.
  4. Assist residents with their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs according to care plans.
  5. Contribute to daily resident records.
  6. Work effectively as part of a team and undertake delegated tasks efficiently.
  7. Promote and safeguard the welfare of residents and adults in contact with the post holder.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience at Care Assistant level is preferred.
  • Care Certificate or equivalent, or willingness to achieve within 12 months.
  • Knowledge of good care practices for older people.
  • Understanding of the 6 principles of care and their application in residential/nursing settings.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Self-motivated and confident.
