Scope

The Care Assistant works as part of the Care Team, primarily responsible for delivering person-centred care under the guidance of Registered Nurses and Care Coordinators. Responsibilities include supporting members' independence, dignity, and safety, with attention to individual needs and preferences.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Providing direct care to support members' independence and wellbeing.
• Assisting with personal care activities like washing, dressing, and mobility.
• Supporting members in developing and following Personal Care Plans.
• Paying attention to individual support needs, including mobility aids, dietary requirements, medical conditions, and communication preferences.
• Engaging with family members and coordinating with the care team to ensure comprehensive support.
• Maintaining equipment safety, cleanliness, and reporting faults.
• Participating in activities and events at the home.
• Responding to emergency requests and supporting wider services like health monitoring and medication support.
• Documenting observations and interventions accurately.
• Supporting members in creating a homely environment and participating in activities.
• Attending mandatory training and engaging in professional development.
• Working flexibly across various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Upholding company values, promoting diversity and inclusion, ensuring safety, and maintaining professionalism and effective communication.
• Contributing to policy development, monitoring standards, and liaising with external agencies.
• Ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements, including eligibility to work in the UK.
