We are recruiting 2x part-time Care Assistants (female) to provide care and support to people living in Cullercoats and Monkseaton on a care run.

If you are the kind of person that can make people smile while visiting them in their home, then a Care Assistant role with Be Caring could be the right fit for you. You do not need a degree or care qualifications to be a Care Assistant, but you will need the right values. Each day is varied, and you will need to have a can-do attitude.

Pay: £ p/hr (walker) (paid per shifts not per call, travel time included)

  • Mileage - 20p per mile for cyclists

As a Care Assistant for Be Caring , your working hours will be aligned to our shift patterns, which for this role include late shift working and alternate weekends.

  • Late Shifts: 3:00pm-10:00pm

As a Care Assistant for Be Caring , we will agree your working pattern, setting 2-week rota which includes:

  • Week1 - Minimum of 2 days per week - extra sifts available
  • Week2 - Minimum of 2 days per week - extra shifts available
  • 1 weekend will be your usual weekend working (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Fully funded DBS.
  • Paid induction training:1 week classroom-based (Monday - Friday), 2 days shadowing and additional online modules.
  • Training development: funded Level 2 and other accredited courses.
  • Holiday pay:annual leave accumulates with working hours and length of service.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP):24-hour helpline, advice and guidance for yourself and dependents.
  • Union membership (optional):through our partnership with the GMB.

Job Description

You may already have many of the skills needed to make an excellent Care Assistant for Be Caring , patience, empathy, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively are all essential qualities for this role.

As a Care Assistant working within Cullercoats/Monkseaton , you will:

  • Provide personal care that protects people's dignity.
  • Promote independence using enabling approaches.
  • Support people to meet their outcomes, involving families and professionals.
  • Connect people to their communities accessing local support and services.
  • Deliver personalised care through individual choice and control.
  • Be a strong and effective communicator, documenting, reporting, and sharing information with the right people at the right time.

Induction Training

We are looking for people with Be Caring values to join our team. For this role you do not need care experience, we recognise you will have many transferable skills from previous roles, for example as a shop assistant. We will provide you with the training you need to be an outstanding Care Assistant.

As a Care Assistant for Be Caring, you will be provided with comprehensive induction training on:

  • Be Caring values, going Above & Beyond to meet personal outcomes.
  • Dignity and respect, safeguarding and equality and diversity
  • Confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Fluids and nutrition and safe administration of medication.
  • Moving and positioning, basic life support, and pressure sores (React to Red)
  • Infection prevention and control,health and safety.
  • Learning Disabilities (Oliver McGowan Tier 1), mental health and capacity.
