Overview
Care Assistant (Car Driver Essential) (Adult Social Care) – Permanent, part time role with Radfield Home Care, serving Stamford, Peterborough & Rutland. This position involves providing community-based care to help people live independently, including personal care, household tasks, medication support and companionship calls. Driving is essential as you will operate a company vehicle to travel between client locations.
Responsibilities
- Provide a range of in-home care including personal care, household tasks, medication support and companionship.
- Travel between client locations as part of organised geographical runs.
- Adhere to service plans, maintain accurate records, and communicate with the line manager.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: £12.75 to £13.50 per hour
- Plus paid travel: 40p per mile

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
Required:
- Physically able to cope with the demands of domiciliary care (moving, lifting, bending, stairs, etc.)
- Mentally able to cope with the demands of domiciliary care, including dealing with bereavement and challenging behaviour
- Able to work regular weekends (either 4 sessions on alternate weekends or 2 sessions every weekend)
- Participation in the stand-by carer rota
- Self-motivated, organised and flexible
- Caring, patient and sensitive to others’ needs
- Active team player and able to work on own initiative
- Good communication skills
Desired:
- Previous experience in the care profession; qualifications are desirable but training and qualifications can be provided to staff with no prior care experience
