Job summary

Pilgrims' Friend Society is seeking compassionate Care Assistants to join the team at Middlefields House, a state-of-the-art home for 48 residents. We offer 24/7 care and support for older and sometimes ill residents, with day and night shifts available on a zero hour/bank basis.

Our Christian ethos underpins all we do, and you will be part of a caring, supportive staff team that values dignity and respect for every resident, helping them stay independent and connected to the community.

Qualifications

• Experience in providing care and an understanding of dementia is essential.
• Ability to work in a team and provide an excellent level of care to clients.
• Be well-organised, adaptable and practical.

We are currently looking to appoint compassionate and committed Care Assistant to join our dynamic Care Team in our newly built, state of the art Middlefields House catering for 48 residents. View our stunning home here.

We provide 24/7 care and support to our older and sometimes sick residents and are seeking for both day and night staff to bring on board.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a high quality, professional service of care to our residents.


• Help a resident with personal cleanliness such as helping a resident with a bath.


• Support residents to eat and drink.


• Get to know residents so as to comfort, assist and give reassurance when needed.


• Treat others as individuals with unique and diverse needs.


• Treat our residents with dignity and respect.


• Support our residents to keep independent and healthy and encourage them to be part of the community within the home.


• Assist with tidying, cleaning, laundering and other domestic tasks when needed.


• Assist in the care at end of life.

About you:

• You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have an empathy with them;


• You need to be able to work in a team and be willing to take on any task to provide an excellent level of care to our clients; and


• You need to be well-organised, adaptable and practical.


• Experience in providing care and an understanding of dementia is essential.

Hours:

• Zero hour contract/Bank shifts are available to cover for absence, sickness, holidays and relief.


• Availability to work weekends and weekdays


• Availability to work both days and nights.

Benefits:

Weekend rate £13.70
