Job summary

Pilgrims’ Friend Society is seeking a Care Assistant to join the on-site team at Cumbria Emmaus House Care Home. The role provides care to vulnerable residents and progression opportunities in Health & Social Care qualifications, with a supportive team environment and roster flexibility.

The position welcomes applicants who are friendly, reliable and dedicated to delivering compassionate care in a Christian community setting.

Qualifications

• Provide high quality, professional care to residents.
• Assist with personal cleanliness and meals.
• Show empathy for older people and work well in a team.
• Be well-organised, adaptable and practical.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, professional service of care to residents.
• Help a resident with personal cleanliness such as helping a resident with a bath.
• Support residents to eat and drink.
• Get to know residents to comfort, assist and give reassurance when needed.
• Treat residents with dignity and respect.
• Support residents to keep independent and healthy and encourage them to be part of the community within the home.
• Assist with tidying, cleaning, laundering and other domestic tasks when needed.
