As a Care Assistant, you will work as part of a team to empower individuals with severe autism and learning disabilities. Your goal is to help them take control of their lives and achieve their full potential within society.
You will promote social inclusion and facilitate access to community settings. Support will be provided in a person-centred way, encouraging living skills at home and promoting social inclusion principles.
Your responsibilities include assisting with daily living skills, personal care, housework, shopping, cooking, attending appointments, administering medication, and maintaining records in support plans. You will also support individuals in managing anxieties and distress, ensuring their safety.
Additional support involves maintaining contact with family and friends, and facilitating participation in social events, activities, college, work, and holidays.

You will be part of a team providing 24-hour support in various settings, including single tenancies, group homes, and core and cluster services. The role involves shift work, including days, sleepovers, and night shifts, in accordance with the National Care Standards.
