Care Assistant Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support to individuals, enabling them to live comfortably and independently. As a Care Assistant, you will assist with daily tasks, promote well-being, and ensure the dignity and respect of those in your care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assist with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Support mobility and physical needs, including help with transferring and positioning.
- Daily Living Support: Help with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration. Assist with household tasks, such as cleaning and laundry. Accompany clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
- Emotional and Social Support: Provide companionship and emotional reassurance. Encourage participation in activities to enhance mental and emotional well-being.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Observe and report any changes in health or behavior to the appropriate supervisor. Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided.
- Compliance and Safety: Follow care plans and ensure all activities align with health and safety regulations. Adhere to confidentiality and safeguarding policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Prior experience in a care role is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- A caring, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety protocols.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements:
- A valid First Aid/CPR Certification, or willingness to obtain one.
- Proof of the right to work in this country.
Essential Qualifications:
- Enhanced DBS/Update service.
- References required for the last 3 years of employment.
