Job description

As a Care Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the nursing and other care staff in implementing the care plans for our discharge to assess and dementia patients at Schoen Clinic York. Nursing staff will develop detailed care plans in line with best practices (e.g., NICE guidelines), and Care Assistants will participate in developing and executing daily activities to support these plans.

Main duties of the job

• Support service users with activities of daily living including mealtimes, continence support, dressing, and personal care.
• Work within the Health and Safety policies in accordance with Schoen Clinic guidelines.
• Demonstrate awareness of safeguarding principles in all dealings with service users and their families.
• Complete all relevant paperwork accurately and promptly, including incident reporting where appropriate.
• Provide compassionate, quality-led care during activities.

Schoen Clinic York is a highly specialised hospital for adults in the North of England. Currently based on the ground floor of Minster Grange as an eating disorder hospital, it will expand in September 2024 to include Dementia care and Discharge to Assess services. Located just off Haxby Road, it is a 10-minute drive from York Train Station and 4 miles from the A64.

Job responsibilities
