Job summary

Orchard Care Homes is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead a dedicated care team in Wakefield. You will assess resident needs, develop person-centred care plans, and ensure compassionate support across medical, physical and emotional aspects.

You’ll supervise staff, mentor colleagues, maintain best practices, and contribute to audits and inspections while promoting dignity, independence and choice for every resident.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 3 in Health & Social Care (essential).
• Experience in elderly care or dementia support.
• Previous experience of at least 6 months as Senior Care Assistant.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting the care team to deliver high-quality care.

• Monitoring residents' wellbeing and updating care records.
• Liaising with healthcare professionals and families.
