Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, dedicated Care Assistant for Virginia Water Care Home in Virginia Water, Surrey. You will join a close-knit team, delivering high standards of personal care and contributing to continuity of services for residents.

No prior experience is required as we provide a thorough induction and training programme to build confidence. DBS Disclosure checks are arranged by Avery, and eligibility to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate initiative and be respectful towards residents and other people in the home.
• Be an efficient worker who can carry reasonable instructions from other team members.
• Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of personal care to residents and contribute fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services.
• Assist residents with personal hygiene while maintaining independence, dignity and respect.
• Recognise clinical risk areas (weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, signs of infection) and escalate risks promptly.
• Interact courteously with residents and visitors, upholding dignity and individuality.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Care Assistant will be to deliver high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.

• Assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.
• Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, sign of infections and elevate any identified risks in a timely manner.
• Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
• Practicing safe systems of work across the range of task.
