Job summary

Avery Healthcare in Gravesend is seeking a Care Assistant to join Springwood Corner Care Home. You will deliver high standards of personal care and support the care team to ensure continuity of services for residents.

Full induction and training will be provided; an DBS disclosure check will be required and funding covered by Avery Healthcare. You must be eligible to work in the UK and demonstrate care with respect and compassion.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate initiative and be respectful towards residents and other people in the home.
• Be an efficient worker who can carry reasonable instructions from other team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal hygiene to promote independence, dignity and respect.
• Recognise and address clinical risk areas (e.g., weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, infections) and escalate risks promptly.
• Treat residents and visitors courteously, upholding their dignity and individuality.
• Practice safe systems of work across all tasks.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Care Assistant will be to deliver high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents. Other responsibilities will include:

• Assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.
• Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, sign of infections and elevate any identified risks in a timely manner.
• Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
• Practicing safe systems of work across the range of task.
