Job Role: Care Assistant - Complex Care Service

As a Care Assistant within the Complex Care service, you will work as part of a team to empower individuals with severe autism and learning disabilities. Your goal is to help them take control of their lives and pursue opportunities to realize their full potential in society.

You will promote social inclusion and facilitate access to community settings. Support service users by encouraging their living skills in a person-centred way that aligns with social inclusion principles.

Your responsibilities include assisting with daily living skills, personal care, housework, shopping, cooking, attending appointments, administering medication, and maintaining records in support plans. You will also support individuals in managing anxieties and distress, ensuring their safety.

You will maintain regular contact with family, friends, social activities, colleges, workplaces, and during holidays.

You will be part of a team providing 24-hour support in various settings, including individual tenancies, group homes, and core services. The role involves shift work, including days, sleepovers, and nights, in accordance with National Care Standards.

The Person

Before appointment, you must obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and join the relevant PVG scheme.

As this role requires SSSC registration, you will have three months to apply for registration and must start the process promptly to be registered within six months.

If necessary, support and information will be provided to help you achieve required qualifications within the specified timeframe.
