Job summary

McCarthy & Stone is recruiting a Care Assistant for Ellisfields Court in Taunton, Somerset. You will provide high-quality personal care to residents and support with housekeeping and apartment cleaning, while encouraging participation in wellbeing activities.

You'll help residents with appointments, transport and, when needed, accompany them on visits and assist with shopping. A friendly, team-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Warm, friendly individual with ideally some experience in a care or support environment.
• Passion for wellbeing of older people and enjoy teamwork in a busy setting.
• Driven to deliver excellent customer service.
• QCF Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent considered with relevant experience.

Job Introduction

McCarthy & Stone are recruiting a Care Assistant to join the team at our Ellisfields Court development in Taunton, Somerset.

Built in 2014, Ellisfields Court Court is a Retirement Living Plus development that consists of 58 apartments with the over 70's in mind, providing excellent on-site facilities and set within beautiful grounds.

Hourly rate

£13.26 per hour, plus earn up to an additional £1.30 for working evening and weekend hours

About the role

As a Care Assistant you will provide the highest quality of individual care to our residents enabling them to live later life well. You will deliver housekeeping and domestic support across the general estate, including apartment cleans. Duties will be varied and include supporting and encouraging our residents to take part in a wide range of activities that support their health and wellbeing. You will help them to book appointments, arrange transport and where necessary, escort them on visits and assist with their shopping. Every day will be diverse, and you’ll have the opportunity to use your people skills to make a real difference.

About you

• You will be a warm, friendly individual with ideally some experience of working in a care or support environment.
• You will have a passion for making a difference to the wellbeing and happiness of older people and enjoy working as part of team in a busy work setting.
• You will be driven to deliver excellent customer service.
• You will want to work in the Health and Social care sector and preferably have a QCF Health and Social Care (Adults) Level 2 qualification,although consideration will be given to a candidate with an alternative qualifications and relevant experience.
