Job summary

A Talented team at Allscreens Nationwide Ltd is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to support clients with daily living activities in nursing homes, care homes, residential homes, and domiciliary care. You will work closely with service users to uphold comfort and dignity in their own homes.

Qualifying requirements include a healthcare-related qualification from any country and at least 1 year of care experience.

Qualifications

• Healthcare qualification from any country.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in health care sector.

Responsibilities

• To assist service users with getting up in the morning, dressing, washing, bathing and toileting where necessary.
• To help service users with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence and use of aids and personal equipment.
• To help care for service users who are dying.
• To promote mental and physical activity through talking, outings, reading, writing, hobbies and recreation.
• To make beds, tidy rooms, do light cleaning and empty commodes.
• To set tables and trays, serve meals, feed service users who need help, prepare light meals and wash up.
• To read and write in log-book records and attend staff and service users' meetings and training activities.
• To be available to work as agreed with Caregiving, with notice of cancellation.
• To follow instructions from managers and supervisors according to individual care plans.
• To actively talk and listen to service users, respecting personal choice at home.
• To work across Nursing homes, Care homes, Residential homes, and Domiciliary care; flexible to locations.

3. To help care for service users who are dying.
4. To help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of service users through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreation.
5. To make and change beds; tidy rooms; do light cleaning and empty commodes.
6. To set tables and trays, serve meals, feed service users who need help, prepare light meals and wash up, and tidy and clear away.
7. To read and write in log-book records and take part in staff and service users' meetings and in training activities as directed.
8. To be available to work as and when agreed with Caregiving, where possible, 24 hours’ notice of any cancellation.
9. To carry out accurately, and in a competent manner, instructions from managers and supervisors, adhering to the care plans of individual service users.
10. To actively talk- and listen to service users, allowing for their personal choice in their own home.
