Job summary

Routes Healthcare is seeking a Community Care Assistant - Driver with Own Vehicle to travel to clients’ homes and deliver person-centred care across designated areas. The role combines client visits with driving duties, following care plans and delivering compassionate support.

You will work in community settings, visiting clients daily with a focus on dignity, safety and adherence to care plans, while enjoying a supportive environment and pathways for progression.

Qualifications

  • The right to work in the UK is required.
  • A full valid UK driving licence and access to a car for work.
  • Reliable, compassionate and committed to delivering excellent care.
  • Desirable: at least 3 months paid care experience in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Visiting vulnerable and palliative clients in their own homes between 7am and 10pm.
  • Providing personal care with dignity and respect.
  • Supporting with medication management.
  • Assisting with meal preparation and nutrition.
  • Working solo or as part of a 2-person team depending on client needs.
  • Travelling between client visits throughout your shift.

Community Care Assistant - Driver with Own Vehicle


Pay Rate: £14.24 - £15.07 per hour (including holiday pay) + 30 pence per mile


Location: We have community care roles available in Wallsend, Shiremoor Forest Hall, Longbenton and surrounding areas. You must be willing to work across all areas.

About The Role

This is a homecare position - you'll be travelling to clients' homes throughout the day to provide person-centred care and support, following care plans and delivering excellent and engaging care.


What You'll Be Doing


  • Visiting vulnerable and palliative clients in their own homes between 7am and 10pm

  • Providing personal care with dignity and respect

  • Supporting with medication management

  • Assisting with meal preparation and nutrition

  • Working solo or as part of a 2-person team depending on client needs

  • Supporting clients with a variety of different care requirements

  • Travelling between client visits throughout your shift
