Job summary

Island Healthcare Limited is hiring Care Assistants for our Isle of Wight homes including Hazel Lodge, Northbrooke House and Tile House. Roles are 0-35 hours per week with shifts 7am-2pm or 2pm-9pm, across five days with alternating weekends.

Basic rate £12.80 plus top-ups for NVQ qualifications and weekend work, with attendance bonuses. No experience needed; training provided and you’ll help residents feel safe, heard and at home.

Qualifications

• No experience required; full training provided.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent is welcomed but not essential.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is beneficial for progression.

Responsibilities

• Help residents get ready with care, dignity and calm.
• Share stories, smiles and tea — your presence matters.
• Notice small changes that help keep people safe and well.
• Keep the home clean, calm and welcoming for everyone.
• Work with carers, nurses and families to give great care.
• Assist with medication (if trained) and keep clear records.

Care Assistant – Island Healthcare - Various locations around the Isle of Wight

Hazel Lodge, Havenstreet, Isle of Wight - 35 hours

Northbrooke House, Havenstreet, Isle of Wight - 35 hours

Tile House, Shanklin, Isle of Wight - Community Hub Care Assistant - 20 hours

0-35 hours per week – shifts 7am-2pm, 2pm-9pm - Mixture of shifts to be worked flexibly over 5 days and work every other weekend.

Basic rate: £12.80

NVQ 2/Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent + 25p per hour

NVQ 3/Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent + 50p per hour

Enhancements: 10% for weekends

Attendance Bonus: +75p per hour if you attend all shifts on your rota. T&Cs apply
