Job summary

Home Instead Reading is seeking caring, reliable Care Professionals to help older adults live safely and independently in their own homes. You’ll provide compassionate, relationship-led care with ongoing training and support, joining a welcoming team that values you and your growth.

We offer full-time and part-time roles with flexible hours (12–40 per week), mileage allowances, and a pension scheme. You’ll make a meaningful difference in your local community every day.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care and companionship in clients' homes.
  • Assist with personal care, meal planning, and daily living activities.
  • Support independence, dignity and wellbeing for clients.
  • Follow care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Keep accurate care records and report changes promptly.
  • Travel between clients’ homes to deliver scheduled visits.

Care Professional – Home Instead

As a Care Professional, you'll play a vital role in helping older adults and vulnerable individuals live safely, comfortably, and independently in their own homes. What You’ll Do

As a Care Professional, you will:

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred care and companionship in clients' own homes.
  • Support clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting where required.
  • Assist with meal planning and preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and other daily living activities.
  • Build meaningful relationships with clients, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
  • Follow and contribute to personalised care plans tailored to each client's individual needs and preferences.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely care records, reporting any changes in a client's health or wellbeing.
  • Travel between clients' homes to provide scheduled care visits.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for caring individuals who are dependable, professional, and committed to delivering outstanding care.

  • A compassionate, caring nature with a genuine desire to support others.
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written English.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle for travelling between client visits.
  • Consistent weekly availability, including some evenings and/or weekends.
  • Previous experience in home care, domiciliary care, healthcare, or a similar caregiving role.
  • Knowledge of person-centred care and care planning.
