Care and Support - Highwood Care Home
Contract: Salary: £12.21 Shift Type: Days Contracted hours: 36

Our purpose-built care home is nestled in the beautiful and historic port town of Bideford. Our luxury facility offers Residential, Dementia, Nursing and Respite care for up to 67 residents.

We are now looking for kind, reliable Care Assistants to join our supportive team. Whether you have previous care experience or are looking for a meaningful new career path, this is a chance to make a real difference every day.

What We Offer:

  • £12.21 per hour
  • Contracted to 36 hours per week
  • Paid DBS, pension scheme, free uniform and onsite parking
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)

Your Role:
As a Care Assistant, you’ll help residents with their daily routines – getting dressed, staying active, enjoying meals – while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing. You’ll support their care plans, communicate any changes in health, and bring warmth and companionship to every shift. You’ll also play a key part in creating a welcoming environment and working collaboratively with colleagues.

What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for someone who is friendly, compassionate and committed to high-quality care. Ideally, you will have:

  • An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (preferred)
  • At least 6 months’ experience in a care role, or transferable skills and a passion for helping others
  • A team-focused mindset and great communication skills
  • A respectful, person-centred approach to care
