Hightown Housing Association in Newton Longville is seeking a Care Assistant to support individuals to live safe, fulfilling lives in a person-centred way. This full-time role covers 37.5 hours weekly with shift patterns from 7am–3pm and 2pm–10pm, and a salary of £26,229 plus bonuses. A full driving licence is required.

We value caring, patient, and reliable individuals who communicate well and work well as part of a team. Training will be provided, and weekends/bank holidays may be required.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals to live safe, fulfilling, and independent lives. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality, person-centred care and support
• Supporting with personal care and daily routines
• Assisting with complex health needs, including PEG feeding, insulin administration, and catheter care (full training provided)
• Supporting individuals who may display behaviours that challenge in a calm and positive manner
• Communicating effectively with individuals who may be non-verbal, adapting your approach to meet their needs
• Supporting with mealtimes, appointments, and overall wellbeing
• Encouraging independence through daily activities such as cooking, shopping, and household tasks
• Planning and participating in activities, outings, and social experiences
• Following personalised support plans to help each individual achieve their goals

We are seeking someone who is:

• Naturally caring, patient, and motivated to make a difference
• A confident communicator with strong verbal and written skills
• Able to adapt to different needs, including non-verbal communication
• Resilient, proactive, and positive in their approach
• A team player who values inclusion, dignity, and respect
• Flexible and reliable, able to work shifts (7am-3pm and 2pm-10pm), including weekends and bank holidays
• Ideally experienced in a similar care or support role
• A background in nursing or clinical care would be highly valued, offering a great opportunity to apply and further develop your clinical skills within a supportive, person-centred environment - however, this is not essential
