In your role as a Care Assistant at HC-One, you’ll value kindness above all. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. Every single person who works here understands that our residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell. By joining HC-One, you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people.

Right now, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed Care Assistant to join the team at our care home. Whether we're providing long or short-term, convalescence, respite or palliative care, our focus is on providing the highest quality service at all times. Do you fit this role?

As a Care Assistant, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for the physical and emotional well-being and social needs of our residents. Your duties include assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing, and helping with meals.

You will deliver care that truly comes from the heart, ensuring our residents never lose their dignity or sense of individuality. You may help someone with limited mobility to learn to use an aid, offer emotional support to a confused or distressed resident, or provide end-of-life care, always prioritizing their well-being.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. It is important that you can recognize signs of possible abuse, harm, or neglect and know what actions to take. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training as needed. You should also be able to seek advice and report concerns, including escalation if necessary.

We’ll provide full training, offering you the chance to learn new skills. In return, you will enjoy a variety of benefits and services supporting your physical and psychological well-being. Throughout your career, we will invest in you and offer additional support, including:

  • Hourly rate subject to experience and qualifications.
  • Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG.
  • Free uniform.
  • A nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • 28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays.
  • Group life assurance cover.
  • Wagestream – flexible access to pay and financial wellbeing support.
  • Outstanding learning and development opportunities, including qualifications.
  • GP online – 24/7 GP consultations via an app, available to you and your children under 16.
  • Opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues as part of a dedicated team.
  • Colleague discounts at over 1600 high street stores.
  • Free access to an Employee Assistance Programme for physical, mental, and financial support.
  • Recognition schemes such as ‘Kindness in Care’ and Long Service Awards.
  • Refer a friend scheme, earning up to £1000 per successful referral.

We are committed to ensuring our workforce reflects the communities we serve, promoting inclusive working practices. We invite applicants from all backgrounds and aim for a quick onboarding process from offer to start date.
