Job description

Support a young boy with Infantile Pompe Disease in his family home as a Complex Care Assistant. Receive full training and clinical supervision to develop skills such as tracheostomy care, ventilation, PEG feeding, and seizure management. The client enjoys worship, teaching, football, collecting football cards, movies, and Sky Sports News. Support may also be provided in school settings. The home is non-smoking and features a friendly Labrador. Your role involves promoting independence, managing clinical needs, and engaging with the family, offering a rewarding experience and opportunities to grow your expertise in complex care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical care such as tracheostomy, PEG feeding, ventilation, suctioning, medication administration, and safe moving and handling.
  • Supporting the client’s daily activities and promoting independence.
  • Engaging with the family and supporting in school settings as needed.

Qualifications required:

  • Full training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure confidence and competence.
